Privacy Policy

Data protection

Thank you for your interest in our website. We take the protection of your personal data seriously. Accordingly, on this page, we would like to inform you about our company's privacy policy. We do of course observe the statutory provisions of the Data Protection Act (BDSG), the Telemedia Act (TMG) and other regulations relevant to data protection in Germany.
Your personal data is in safe hands on our website! We use technical measures to protect our web systems from breakdown, irreversible damage or unauthorised access.

Subject of this Policy

This Policy applies to items of personal data. As defined by BDSG s. 3[1], "personal data" provides details of the personal or factual circumstances of an identified or identifiable natural person. These include such details as your name, street address, email address or phone number, as well as usage data such as your PC'S IP address.

Scope of data collection and storage

As a general rule, we do not require you to provide personal data in order to make use of our web pages. However, we may require items of personal data in order to actually provide you with one or more of our services. This applies when sending you brochures or goods you have ordered, for example, and also in cases where we need to answer customer inquiries.
If you commission our services or request deliveries of our goods, then, as a rule, we will collect and store your personal data only to the extent that is required in order to provide the service or fulfil the terms of the contract in question. In addition, we may also need to forward your personal data to other companies whom we have engaged for the purposes of service provision or contract fulfilment. Typically, these will be hauliers or other service companies. When we engage in business activities such as – but not limited to – those described below, or provide services, we would like to be able to collect and store your personal data and we will request your express permission to do so at the relevant juncture on our website:
- Mailing you our newsletter
- Personalising our website for you
- Other services and offers where we require your express consent before collecting data.

Or other types of service provision.
Following contractual fulfilment, your data will be embargoed and then deleted on expiry of the statutory tax and commercial law retention periods – except in cases where you have explicitly permitted usage beyond these dates.
If you have provided your email address when subscribing to our newsletter, we will – beyond the terms of this contractual fulfilment – also use your email address for internal marketing purposes until you unsubscribe.

Data collection via the use of Google Analytics

Our website makes use of the Google Analytics web service from Google, Inc. Google Analytics utilises what are known as "cookies". These "cookies" are text files, which are placed on your computer to help the website analyze how you, the user, browse the site. Examples of the items of data collected include your operating system, your browser, your IP address, the web page you accessed before visiting our site (the referrer URL) and the time and date of your visit. The information generated by the text file about the use of the website will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of our website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. This use is made anonymously or pseudonymously. For more information about this service, please visit Google at http://www.google.com/intl/de/privacypolicy.html#information

Google utilises the DoubleClick DART cookie

Users can deactivate the utilisation of this DART cookie by accessing Google's Privacy Policy for Google Ads and Advertising Services.
The procedure does not involve the direct storage of any of the user's personal data, only the internet protocol (IP) address. This piece of data helps us to recognise you automatically on your next visit to our website and to make it easier for you to navigate through our site. Cookies, for example, permit us to modify a website to suit your interests or to save your password so that you do not need to enter it again each time you visit.
Of course, you may also browse our websites without using cookies. If you do not want us to be able to recognise your computer, then you can prevent cookies being saved to your hard disk by configuring the setting "Do not accept cookies" in your browser. For details of how to change this setting, please consult your browser developer's User Guide. Please remember: if you do not accept cookies, you may experience reduced functionality in our services.
You can prevent cookies being installed by configuring a specific setting in the application you use to access the Internet (browser). This will involve disabling the storage of cookies in your web browser. For more detailed information about this, please consult your web browser's user guide.

Collection and storage of usage data

To optimise our website, we collect and store data such as the date and time of the page access, the web page from which you accessed our web page, and similar items of data. This is done anonymously, without personally identifying the user of the website. On occasion, user profiles are created with pseudonyms. Here, too, there is no connection made between the real person referred to by the pseudonym and the usage data collected. We utilise "cookies" to both collect and store the usage data. These "cookies" are small text files that are saved on your computer and are used to store statistical data such as your operating system, the application you use to access the Internet (browser), your IP address, the page you visited before visiting our page (referrer URL) and the time of day. We collect such data for purely statistical purposes and use it to ensure the continued improvement of our web presence and to further increase the appeal of our web services. All collection and storage is performed anonymously or pseudonymously and permits no real-world inferences to be made about you as a natural person.

Purpose-driven data usage

We observe the principles of purpose-driven data usage and we therefore collect, process and store your personal data only for the purposes for which you have provided us with this data. Without your express permission, we will never pass your personal data on to third parties in cases where this is not required in order to provide a service or to fulfil the terms of a contract. Certain government bodies and local authorities are authorised to request information: however, we will provide data only in such cases where this provision is mandated by law or if we are obliged to do so by a court order.
We also take company-internal data protection very seriously. Our employees and the companies that we commission to provide services are required to sign a confidentiality agreement and a declaration of compliance with data protection legislation.

Rights of disclosure and withdrawal

You may request details of your data file from us at any time, at no cost and without giving a reason. You may also request that we embargo, sanitise or delete your data file at any time. You may also withdraw your consent to our collection and utilisation of your data at any time and without giving a reason. To do any of the above, please contact us at the address given in the Legal Notice. We are happy to help you at any time in regard to more detailed enquiries about the information we provide on data protection and the processing of your personal data.
Please also note that privacy policies and the way that data protection is handled – e.g. by Google – may change at any time. We therefore strongly advise you to keep yourself informed about changes to data protection law and privacy policies as maintained by companies such as Google.
